In its simplest terms, Economic Development means the creation of community wealth through increasing the flow of money into a community and by reducing the flow of money out of a community. By accomplishing these two goals, the entire economy is enhanced as the total wealth in the community increases, all citizens benefit.

Since late 1999, the Sanilac Economic Development Corporation (EDC) has served as a forum through which business and community leaders from throughout Sanilac County have worked together to promote economic development strategies. Serving as a liaison between businesses and state and local governments, the EDC has worked to foster greater collaboration on growing our local economy.
