Thumb Octagon Barn and Agricultural Museum

Step back in time when you enter the premier agricultural museum in the Thumb of Michigan. The site is home to the Thumb Octagon Barn and a craftsman style house along with a one room school, a grain elevator, blacksmith shop, sugar shack, cider mill and sawmill.

The site is open for tours from May 15 - September 30 from 11am-5pm, Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Special events are held throughout the season. Don't miss our Annual Fall Family Days which takes place the weekend after Labor Day.

Port Sanilac Lighthouse

Built in 1886, this lighthouse originally burned kerosene, but was electrified in 1929. It is now a private residence, but the light remains an active aid for navigation.

Croswell Swinging Bridge

Sanilac County is home to Michigan’s only suspension footbridge. Built in 1905, the suspension footbridge, is also called the “Mother-in-Law Bridge” because there is a sign stating “Be Good to Your Mother-in- Law” at one end.
